About

Domaine Alvina Pernot

Alvina Pernot is a young maison located in Puligny-Montrachet, Burgundy. Alvina Pernot is the winemaker of the estate, she purchases all the grapes for her wines.

The wines of the maison are marked with stylish bouquets, fruity flavours and classy aromas.

The top wines of the domaine are: Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru, Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Clos des Folatières and Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Pucelles. The Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2020 scored 94, Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Clos des Folatières 2020 scored 93+ and Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Pucelles 2019 scored 93+ by the Wine Advocate.

Robert Parker’s tasting notes on the Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru 2020: “The 2020 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru has turned out especially well, offering up aromas of pear, orange oil, white flowers and buttered toast, followed by a full-bodied, rich and satiny palate that's textural but vibrant, underpinned by lively acids and chalky structuring extract. Concluding with a saline finish, it will merit some bottle age.”

History

2018

Maison Alvina Pernot has been founded in 2018 by Alvina Pernot. She is assisted by her husband Philippe Abadie. Alvina Pernot is a descendant of the famous Pernot family. She gained her experience during three years of work at her grandfather's Domaine Paul Pernot.

Approach

Maison Alvina Pernot is a négociant. Mostly all the grapes Alvina Pernot purchases are harvested from her grandfather’s Domaine Paul Pernot, so she can carefully select the parcels from which to pick from, to express her individual style. Domaine Paul Pernot’s vineyards are farmed according to a sustainable approach, without the certification.

In 2020 Alvina Pernot with her husband - Philippe Abadie built their own winery in Puligny-Montrachet. Before that, the winemaking facilities from Domaine Paul Pernot were used.

The grapes are 100 percent destemmed. The maturation of Alvina Pernot’s Chardonnays lasts approximately 12 months. No new oak is used. All the wines are bottled under high-quality natural cork.
