History

Didier Charton-Vachet is the winemaker at Domaine Charton-Vachet since 2013.

The Vachet family has been in the winemaking business since the 18th century. Didier Charton-Vachet’s father-in-law, Jean Vachet founded the domaine.

Jean Vachet retired in 1993, setting up a leasing arrangement with two of his vineyard workers. They sold the grapes to the local cooperative. At that time none of his three children was interested in following the family's footsteps.

In 2009 Didier Charton-Vachet had his first harvest, selling everything to the cooperative. He decided to bottle everything himself, and his first vinification took place in 2013.
