History

1843

Domaine Fleurot-Larose is managed by René Fleurot assisted by his son, Nicolas Fleurot.

The roots of the domaine go back to 1843 when Château du Passe-Temps was built by Jacques-Marie Duvault-Blochet, the onetime owner of Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. The château has two levels, containing four vaulted cellars extending over 1400 m2 and characterised as supremely damp and cool.

In 1912, the Fleurot family bought the estate. Later, in 1919, the Fleurots bought a substantial plot of Montrachet. However, in the course of time, most of domaine's holdings were sold off to Edmond Delagrange-Bachelet, Domaine Leflaive and in 1994 to Château de Puligny-Montrachet (now sold to Domaine d’Eugénie).

Approach

René Fleurot uses 100 percent new oak for the white wines' grands crus, while older casks are used for the reds.
