History

2009

Domaine Philippe Cordonnier was founded in 2009 by Philippe Cordonnier. Since early childhood Philippe Cordonnier has had a very keen interest in viticulture, and gained his experience working at Domaine Françoise and Denis Clair, in Santenay. Till 2014 he sold his grapes in bulk, but is now bottling his wines.

Approach

Organic

Domaine Philippe Cordonnier vineyards are farmed according to the organic principles, but without certificate.

The vinification process lasts for 3 weeks. Initially the grapes are destemmed, then given a short cold maceration and left for post fermenting. In his approach, Philippe Cordonnier prefers punching down to pumping over, but he has cut back on punching down like many other winemakers.

The wines are matured in young barrels, which are not older than 6 years. The new wood quantity does not exceed 20 percent.
