Champagne De Sousa

Champagne De Sousa was founded in the 1890’s by Manuel de Sousa, a Portuguese immigrant. The champagne house has a current vineyard holding of 9,5 hectares and produces approximately 100.000 bottles of champagne per year. After taking over from his father in 1989 and being the fourth generation, Erick wanted to produce the best wines possible from their chalk rich terroirs in the Côtes de Blanc. He started working more and more organically, ending up being one of the pioneers in biodynamics in the Champagne region. By trying to express these terroirs, he started making more different cuvées to showcase better soil and vintage expression. Erick’s children, who have been working alongside him for many years, will make sure that his legacy will be continued.   Winewebb expresses its condolences to Michelle, Charlotte, Julie and Valentin and Erick's loved ones.
